Mateya Haintz Wins Hammer Throw on First Day Of MAC Championships

DEKALB, Ill.- The Bowling Green State University Falcons finished day one of the 2024 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday (May, 9). After the opening day, the Falcons sit at sixth place with 10 points.Â
Mateya Haintz led the Falcons, placing first in the Hammer Throw with a 191'9" (58.44m) performance. While, Katherine Mendenhall sits at sixth in the heptathlon with 2,975 points, competing in the shot put, high jump, 100m hurdles, 200m dash today. Kailee Perry qualified for the 1500m, placing second with a 4:30.66 time. DaMya Barker placed fourth in the 400m prelims with a 1:02.39 time, qualifying for the final.Â
