BGSU Swimming and Diving Named Among CSCAA Spring Scholar All-America Teams

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced the Spring Team Scholar All-America recipients Monday morning (June 24). Bowling Green was one of the teams announced. To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the Spring 2024 semester.Â
For Bowling Green, the Falcons posted a team GPA of 3.69. BGSU was one of six teams in the MAC to be named, ranking behind only Miami (OH) (3.70), Buffalo (3.71), Eastern Michigan (3.77). In total, 722 teams from 417 institutions were selected to the Scholar All-America Team for the Spring 2024 semester. The teams, representing a total of 17,162 student-athletes, were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the specified semester.
The award comes for the Falcons during the first semester under new head coach Tanner Barton. Barton was named the head coach of the program on April 3, 2024 after spending four seasons as the head coach for men's and women's swimming and diving at John Carroll University, which is a nationally ranked DIII intercollegiate program in nearby Cleveland, Ohio.
