Becdach Collects Second MAC Weekly Honor of Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University sophomore Samia Becdach has been named the MAC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Tuesday. She previously earned the honor earlier this month alongside diver Natalia Mayorga.
Becdach led the Falcons to a dual-meet victory over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, winning both the 50 freestyle (23.52) and 100 freestyle (51.29). She also anchored the first-place 200 medley relay, finishing her leg in 23.14 seconds as BGSU posted a time of 1:43.50.
Her performance helped Bowling Green defeat Miami for the first time since Jan. 22, 2016, and record its first conference dual-meet win since 2022.
Becdach and the Falcons return to action Nov. 7, hosting Eastern Michigan at Cooper Pool.
