THE STARTING XI
I – The Falcons enter the final day of the regular season with an overall record of 8-2-8 (.667), which is tied for the second-best record through 18 matches in program history. The 2018 team began the year at 12-4-2 (.722), while the 2005 team (12-6-0) also had a .667 winning percentage through 18 matches. The 2025 season is the 29th in the history of the program, which began in 1997.
II – Head coach Chris Fox and Company have lost just one of the last 16 matches heading into the midweek meeting at Massachusetts. BG put together a school-record 13-match unbeaten streak between 1-0 home losses to Illinois (Aug. 17) and Ball State (Oct. 19).
III – The Falcons are 3-1-7 in Mid-American Conference play, with the wins coming against Kent State (2-1), Central Michigan (4-0) and Northern Illinois (1-0). BGSU has played to five 1-1 draws (against Ohio, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Miami and Akron), and the Falcons have seen a pair of matches (at Toledo and Buffalo) end in scoreless ties. Overall, BG went 5-2-4 in home games, and the Falcons are currently 3-0-4 in road contests.
IV – BG is tied with EMU for sixth place in the MAC standings entering Wednesday's matches. Currently, the Falcons hold nearly all of the tiebreakers with the Eagles, but that could change depending upon Wednesday's results. Information about tournament scenarios and tiebreakers can be found elsewhere in these notes.
V – Junior Emma Stransky leads the Falcons in scoring, with seven goals and 15 points on the year. She has scored the game-winning goal in each of BGSU's last four wins. Junior Gabby Lamparty – who scored with just 25 seconds to go in Sunday's draw with Akron – has nine points, while sixth-year collegian Ellie Pool has eight and juniors Lizzie Bultynck and Emme Butera seven apiece. Butera leads the Falcons with five assists, while Pool has four.

VIII – Stransky has increased her career totals to 14 goals and 34 points, and she has moved into the top 20 on both BGSU lists. The junior is 17th in career goals and is tied for 18th in career points. And, with nine career game-winning goals, Stransky is tied for second in school history.
IX – BGSU finished the 2024 campaign with an overall record of 7-7-4 and a MAC ledger of 4-4-3, good for sixth in the league. Fox and his staff – first-year assistants Steven Samuel and Kyle Pettican – have a total of 20 returning student-athletes, including seven starters from a year ago. Six of the top-nine scorers from '24 returned.
X – Massachusetts is 5-7-4 overall, and the Minutewomen are 3-5-2 in MAC action. UMass, a first-year member of the MAC, is looking to snap a two-match losing streak, including a 4-1 home loss to Ohio in last week's only match (Oct. 26). Individually, three players have five points including two goals. That trio includes Caroline Dickson, Morgan Bellamy and Aline Traber. In goal, Leah Nisenfeld has started all 16 matches and has 69 saves, seven clean sheets and a 1.36 GAA. Last season, head coach Jason Dowiak's club went 13-5-3 overall and 6-2-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
XI – The Falcons and UMass have never met in women's soccer.
XIII (off the bench) – The 2025 and 2026 MAC Women's Soccer Championships each will take place at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
