Emerson's Late Goal Clinches Sweep for Falcons

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green ice hockey team battled the Princeton Tigers in the series finale on Saturday night, winning a tight contest 4-3 after Quinn Emerson scored the go-ahead goal with just under three minutes remaining. Jacob Steinman got the nod in goal, making 19 saves. Goalscorers for the Falcons were Jackson Niedermayer, Brett Pfoh, Tyler Hotson and Quinn Emerson en route to the sweep.

How it happened
- Bowling Green jumped out to an early lead through Jackson Niedermayer who slid a shot past the Princeton goaltender on a delayed penalty after Breck McKinley was tripped holding the puck in at the blue line.
- The Tigers then equalized with 9:44 remaining in the first, as a puck was played into the slot from behind the net, and Luc Pelletier fired the puck past Jacob Steinman to tie the game.
- The Falcons would regain their advantage with just over a minute remaining in the first through Brett Pfoh, who fired a puck towards the net after a faceoff win from Ben Doran, beating the goaltender to make it 2-1.
- Bowling Green would then fall behind in the second period, as goals from Seamus Latta and Brendan Gorman gave Princeton the lead.
- With a minute to go in the second, Tyler Hotson scored a timely powerplay goal, as he entered the zone off a pass from Dominik Rymon, and then fired a puck towards the goal from a tight angle along the boards, beating the goaltender to tie the game heading into the third.
- A tight third period saw the score tied heading into the final five minutes. The Falcons then went on the powerplay after David Ma took a tripping penalty.
- On the ensuing powerplay, Quinn Emerson latched on to a pass from Jeremie Minville in the slot, firing a shot into the top corner to give the Falcons the lead with just under three minutes to go.
- The Falcons then closed out the final three minutes to win the game 4-3.
