Campbell also went 20-for-27 at the free throw line, tying the program record for free throw attempts in a game, set by Keith McLeod against Ole Miss on Nov. 15, 2001. He was two shy of the free throws made record, currently set at 22 by Ron Lewis against Ball State on March 10, 2003. The historic outing resulted in Campbell being named the MAC Player of the Week for the third time this season.Â
Wol Makes First BGSU Start
Mayar Wol stepped into the starting lineup for the first time this season, going against UMass. In his first start of the season, Wol put up some of his best season numbers. He matched his season-highs for points (21), rebounds (6) and assists (2). His 21 points were also his second 20-point game of the season, becoming the fourth different Falcon with multiple 20-point games this year.Â
Campbell On Record-Breaking Pace
Through 15 games, Javontae Campbell is averaging a 3.4 steals per game with 51 total, both ranking second in the nation. Campbell is currently on pace for 105 steals, which would break not only his own single-season record for the Falcons of 90 last season, but also the MAC record, set at 103 by Ball State's Bonzi Wells in 1997-98. For those looking to follow Campbell's projections, Falcon Sports Media Network's Tyler Kavalecz is doing a game-by-game update on his Twitter/X page (@TKavaleczSports).Â
