BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – After rewriting the program record book last weekend, Rachael Hoover has been named MAC Athlete of the Week. She is the second Falcon to earn the honor this season, joining Morgan Patterson, who was recognized in December.
Hoover won the 800m at the Grand Valley State Big Meet, clocking a school-record 2:07.03. The mark leads the MAC this indoor season and ranks 84th in the NCAA.
The sophomore shaved more than three seconds off her previous personal best of 2:09.61, set at the same meet nearly a year ago. She broke the prior school record of 2:08.04, established two weeks earlier by Reese Reaman at the Doug Raymond Invitational.
