BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Bowling Green Falcons (18-9-7, 15-7-4 CCHA) opens the quarterfinal round of the CCHA Mason Cup Playoffs this weekend in Houghton, Mich., with a best-of-three series at Michigan Tech Huskies (21-12-3, 16-7-3 CCHA). The Falcons enter as the No. 5 seed, while Michigan Tech is the No. 4 seed. The teams return to the same matchup site after Bowling Green swept the Huskies last weekend, earning a 1-0 win on Friday followed by a 4-3 overtime victory on Saturday. This is the third year in a row BGSU and Michigan Tech have met in the quarterfinals with each home team sweeping the round (2024 MTU, 2025 BGSU).

Friday's game starts at 7:07 p.m., Saturday puck drop is 6:07 p.m., and if necessary, Sunday will begin at 5:07 p.m.

The winner of the series will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of the No. 1 seed Minnesota State Mavericks and No. 8 seed Ferris State Bulldogs matchup. Bowling Green enters the postseason ranked No. 19 in the NPI and receiving votes in both the USCHO and USA Hockey polls, while Michigan Tech is ranked No. 20 in the USCHO poll, No. 22 in the NPI, and is also receiving votes in the USA Hockey poll.

• Michigan Tech finished tied for fourth place in the CCHA with BGSU at 49 points. The Huskies held the tie-breaker which was regulation wins since the two teams did not play four times during the regular season.
• Teydon Trembecky leads the Huskies with 14 goals, while Stiven Sardarian leads not just Michigan Tech, but the CCHA with 31 assists and 42 points.
• Owen Bartoszkiewicz is saving 91.7 percent of shots between the pipes, while posting a 2.36 goals against average.
