Women's Golf Starts the Season at Roseann Schwartz Invitational

HERMITAGE, Pa. – The BGSU women's golf team opens its 2026-27 season Monday, Aug. 31, as it travels to Boardman, Ohio, for the Roseann Schwartz Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State University. The tournament will be continuously played over 36 holes at Avalon at Buhl Park and begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The Roseann Schwartz Invitational is a new addition to Bowling Green's schedule this fall, taking over as the Falcons' season opener. The program will return to the A-Ga-Ming Invitational, last year's opener, the following week in Kewadin, Mich., where the Falcons will look to defend their 2025 title.
Head coach Erin Fahey leads Bowling Green into the fall after one of the most successful seasons in program history. BGSU collected two team wins and placed in the top-10 in all ten tournaments last season and finished third at the 2026 MAC Championship. To cap the season, Bowling Green finished fifth overall at the NGI Invitational and Addison Kartusch set a tournament record at 7-under par to become the tournament champion.
In full, Bowling Green's fall roster features senior Sammie Dolce; juniors Macie Elziga, Addison Kartusch, McKenzie Miller and Avery Thompson; and sophomores Shelby Hardwick and Copelin O'Kangley.
The Lineup
BGSU's lineup is led by junior Addison Kartusch, who enters as the Falcons' top returner after setting the program's 36-hole scoring record (205, 11-under) at last year's A-Ga-Ming Invitational and closing the season with a tournament-record 7-under to win the NGI individual title. She carries a 71.5 stroke average and competed this summer in her first professional event, the Epson Tour's Great Lakes Championship.
Senior Sammie Dolce, who led the Falcons at last season's MAC Championship with a 211 (1-over) across three rounds to help BGSU finish third, rounds out the lineup's veteran presence. Sophomore Shelby Hardwick, who signed with BGSU last fall and logged regular tournament starts as a freshman, returns for her second season in the lineup.
Junior Avery Thompson joins the Falcons as a transfer from Findlay, where she helped build the Oilers into a top-three Division II program nationally and won an NCAA East Regional title. Rounding out the lineup is junior McKenzie Miller, a regular contributor who finished in the top 10 at last spring's Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, part of a Falcons squad that placed in the top 10 in every tournament last season.
