2010-2011 (sophomore): Made himself known as the surprise player of the year between the pipes…played in 27 games including 26 starts…went 6-17-3 on the season…recorded his first career win and shutout against Clarkson (Oct. 16) stopping all 31 Golden Knight shots on goal…made a season high 44 saves twice in a 4-1 loss against Alaska-Fairbanks (Oct. 30) and in a 2-1 double OT win at Northern Michigan (March 6) in game three of the CCHA Tournament…he preceded his game three performance with an outstanding 29-save shutout in game two…went 2-1 in shootout scenarios, saving 9-of-11 shots against (.820) with wins coming against Western Michigan and Northern Michigan…allowed two or fewer goals in six of his last nine games…allowed one or fewer goals in seven games, including two shutouts…had 11 games with 30 or more saves and two with 40 or more…finished the year allowing 68 goals with a 2.67 goals-against average and a save percentage of .915…against CCHA opponents, he maintained a 2.70 GAA and a .913 save percentage and a 1-12-3 record…was named Jim Ruehl Best Defensive Player and Jim Sears Most Valuable Defensive Player awards by the team.
2009-10 (freshman): Played in 19 games between the posts including 13 starts…made his first start in the team’s second game of the season at Minnesota State (Oct. 10) where he allowed four goals in 60 minutes of play while saving 37 shots…had six games where he saved 30 or more shots including one 40+ save day against Nebraska-Omaha (Oct. 30)…in that game against the Mavericks, he stopped 43 shots including all three shoot-out opportunities against him in his first decision leading to points for his team in a shoot out win (1-0) following a 3-3 tie…allowed fewer than three goals seven times…played his best in 59:46 against Providence (Oct. 24) allowing only two goals, both even-strength, against the Friars in a 3-1 loss, saving 29-of-31 shots against…led the team to a 2-2 tie and a shoot out win with Michigan State (Feb. 27)…is 2-0 in shoot out situations and saved all six shots taken against him…ended the season with a 0-12-2 record.
Prior to BGSU: Played with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL…had a 2008-09 regular season record of 27-17-1, including a league-leading five shut outs…posted a 2.30 GAA mark and a .912 save percentage…finished the season with a 39-17-1 record and 2.06 goals-against mark and a .923 save percentage…team was ranked fourth in the country and sported a 42-12-1-3 overall record that year…co-recipient of the Canucks Silver Skate Award recognizing passion and dedication to parents, coaches, volunteers and players in the league…voted team MVP…received league honors for BCHL Top Goalie and Top Goalie Duo with teammate Graeme Gordon…named to the BCHL All-Star team…team was 2009 BCHL Fred Page champions, Doyle Cup champions and Royal Bank Cup national champions.
