Meghan Horn was hired in September 2015 as the Assistant Coordinator for Student-Athlete Services. She was named Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Services in 2021.
She will serve as the SAAC advisor and academic advisor for both men’s and women’s cross country, track & field, swimming & diving and volleyball.Â
Horn came to Bowling Green from The College of Wooster, a Division III Institution where she served as the assistant athletic director and assistant track and field coach. As assistant athletic director, she performed a wide variety of administrative duties and was the NCAA Compliance Coordinator for the athletic department. As the assistant track & field coach, she was involved with all aspects of the men’s and women’s programs. Horn specialized in coaching the shot put, discus, hammer, weight throw and served as the recruiting coordinator.
Prior to Wooster, Horn came from NCAA Div. III Maryville College, where she was the athletic facilities coordinator as well as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
While competing as a student-athlete herself, Horn was a Big East all-academic thrower at the University of Notre Dame. She earned all-Big East honors in the shot put and discus events and helped lead the Fighting Irish to a Big East indoor championship in 2006. Horn was the school’s all-time record holder (2005-2010) in the indoor shot put (48 feet, 8.75 inches) and scored at the Big East Championship meets in 12 events during her career.
Originally from Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Horn earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Notre Dame in 2006 and a master’s degree in sport administration at Central Michigan University in 2008.Â
