Darin Hudak
- Title:
- Assistant Men's Golf Coach
Darin Hudak returned to the BGSU men's golf program as an assistant coach just months after his playing career for the program came to an end in the spring of 2025.Â
During his time as a Falcon, Hudak was recognized with a number of accolades, as he was named Academic All-Mid American Conference (MAC) three times, a Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-America Scholar three times and during his senior year, he was awarded a MAC Medal of Excellence for his performance in the classroom and on the course, as well as for his leadership and service.
Over his career at BGSU, Hudak maintained a scoring average of 73.8, the second best in program history. In his junior and senior seasons, he averaged 72.9 and 73.1 respectively, which comprise the 3rd and 4th best single season scoring averages in program history. He recorded his lowest single-round score of 67 at the Mesquite Desert Classic in February of 2025, where he finished even par and finished 20th individually in the tournament. His best ever tournament finish came at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational, where he fired a 68-69-70 for a final score of 207 through three rounds of play. In the tournament, he finished -6 under par and tied for fourth overall.Â
Hudak joins a men's golf coaching staff of veteran head coach John Powers, who is entering his 9th season at the helm, and also Tyler Nickol, who recently joined BGSU after playing four years at Kentucky Wesleyan College.Â
When asked about the appointments of Nickol and Hudak, coach Powers said ""We have hit a home run with our staff this year. Darin has a relentless work ethic and endless pursuit of self-improvement. Combined with the addition of Tyler, our student-athletes will have a tremendous depth of resources for development."Â
