HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner for coach Rod Holmes at Jefferson Area ... the Ohio Division II co-Player of the Year as a senior after averaging 24.4 points and 18.4 rebounds ... also was named a first-team all-state selection for the second consecutive year after earning special mention as a sophomore ... helped the Falcons to a 71-20 record and a pair of Northeastern Conference titles during her tenure ... became the first-ever player at her school to average over 20 points and 10 rebounds in a season, and she did it three times ... the NEC Player of the Year three times ... the first player in the conference in nearly 20 years to surpass the 1,000-career-point mark as a junior ... also earned four volleyball letters, and was named the league[apos]s player of the year three times in that sport as well ... earned all-state honorable mention in volleyball as a senior ... lettered twice in both softball and track, and holds the school record in the shot put ... Student Council Vice President ... National Honor Society ... member of Future Teachers of America ... named the school[apos]s scholar-athlete of the year.
PERSONAL: Kelly Lynn Kapferer was born Sept. 13, 1982, in Madison, Ohio ... daughter of Robert and Denise Kapferer ... a two-dimensional art major, with a concentration in painting ... had a 3.03 cumulative GPA entering the 2004-05 academic year ... the oldest of four children ... has a brother, Kurtis, and two sisters, Haley and Jamie ... married Patrick Tiettmeyer on June 18, 2005 ... big Led Zeppelin fan ... lead singer in a Led Zep cover band.
