2003-04: One of the team[apos]s top defensive players for the second consecutive season ... came off the bench to play in 29 games ... averaging 1.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists ... provided a spark off the bench in the latter stages of the season ... scored a season-high six points in MAC Tournament win over Central Michigan, and added four rebounds and three assists ... tied her season high with 20 minutes played ... had three points, two boards and two assists vs. Toledo, and hit her first three-point field goal of the year ... scored four points and added four rebounds and a season-high four assists in 20 minutes at Ball State ... had three points and seven rebounds, tying her career high in the latter category, in only 10 minutes of action at Marshall ... vs. Kent State, had four points, two boards and a game-high four steals in nine minutes ... point total matched a season high, while steals total tied a career best ... got herself to the foul line eight times in both the Marshall and KSU games ... scored four points and had a steal in just six minutes at CMU ... had a pair of steals in eight minutes in the Western Michigan regular-season game ... three rebounds vs. Akron ... had three assists and four steals in a combined eight minutes in the two games at the EKU Classic ... had three points and a season-high six rebounds in 14 minutes at IUPUI ... four points and three assists vs. SE Missouri State ... two points and an assist vs. both Youngstown State and Oakland.
2002-03: Played in the first 25 games of the season, starting two ... but, missed the final three games after having surgery on her broken nose on Feb. 27 ... broke the nose in practice on Feb. 20, but played in the Akron (Feb. 22) and Marshall (Feb. 26) games, wearing a protective covering on her face ... had the surgery once the swelling went down ... averaged 1.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game ... fourth on the team in assists and third in steals ... had 35 assists after totalling 12 during all of her freshman year ... three rebounds in just six minutes at UA ... had four points and a team-high five assists at UB ... made her first start of the season vs. Toledo (Feb. 8), and was a key contributor ... did not score, but tied her career bests with seven rebounds and six assists in a career-high 27 minutes ... also had a game-high three steals vs. UT ... made a steal in the final seconds to clinch a one-point win at Oakland ... tied her season best with seven points in that game, including a three-pointer to beat the first-half buzzer ... in the next game, vs. Ohio, guarded the Bobcats[apos] Andrea Johnson on the final possession and forced her to take an off-balance shot that missed at the buzzer, giving BG another one-point win ... had a career-high six assists, several of the crowd-pleasing variety, in the Cincinnati game ... also had seven points vs. UC, and added six more vs. Savannah State the next day ... had eight assists in the two games at UC[apos]s tournament, after amassing a total of 16 in the first 31 games of her Falcon career ... had seven rebounds vs. Butler and six boards against IUPUI ... had three steals on five occasions on the year.
2001-02: Played in 24 games, starting three ... averaged 1.6 points and 1.6 rebounds ... was named the team[apos]s Most Improved Player ... had four points, two rebounds and a team- and season-high four steals at Miami ... two assists in just three minutes at UB ... recorded first career blocked shot vs. Akron ... two points and four rebounds in just four minutes vs. Lehigh ... three points and three boards in three minutes vs. Yale ... scored 10 points, the first double-digit outing of her young career, and added three boards at Butler ... had a season-high five rebounds vs. IPFW and a season-best three assists vs. EKU ... two points, two rebounds and two assists in her first collegiate start, vs. Yale ... had five points vs. Colorado, adding two steals ... made her debut at Detroit, and provided a spark off the bench ... had two points, a rebound and a steal in eight minutes.
HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letterwinner for coaches James Rogers and Andrea Rogers at Communication & Media Arts H.S. ... helped the Pharoahs to the championship game of the Michigan Class C State Tournament in her last year ... team made back-to-back Detroit Public School League title-game appearances, and won a pair of district and regional titles in her last two seasons ... averaged 10 points and 10 assists as a senior ... captained the team her final year ... Pharoahs went 51-13 during her three years, including 29-4 in the Public School League.
PERSONAL: Tene Rochelle Lewis was born August 14, 1983, in Detroit, Mich. ... daughter of Michael Lewis, Sr., and Deborah Besant ... a sociology major at BGSU, with a minor in ethnic studies ... the youngest of four children ... has a pair of brothers, Michael, Jr., and Chaka, and a sister, Demeeka.
