Victoria Chaman joined the Bowling Green State University track and field program during the summer of 2013 as an assistant coach. She specializes in assisting coach James Gildon in the sprints, hurdles and relays, while helping with daily administration, event management and academic monitoring of the program.

Chatman is very familiar with the MAC, having competed at Western Michigan from 2008-12 and then serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Eastern Michigan. At Western Michigan, Chatman won 13 conference championships between indoor and outdoor track and field in the 400, 400 relay and 1600 relay. She was a 2012 Second Team All-American as part of the outdoor 1600 relay team and was on the Academic Deans’ List in 2011 and 2012, as well as serving as a member of WMU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Board.

Following her graduation with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and family life education, Chatman began serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Eastern Michigan. She worked with the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers at EMU, aided in the design and implementation of strength training programs for the entire team, handled administrative duties, implemented promotional strategies to increase community awareness of the program and assisted in the planning, coordination and execution of numerous home meets, including the 2013 MAC Indoor Championships.

Chatman recently passed her level I USATF coaching certification in June earned her 2013 USTFCCCA track and field coaching certification in January.
