Jaydon Romero joined the Strategic Communications department in January 2026, serving as the primary contact for Gymnastics, Tennis, Men’s Golf, and Women’s Golf. He previously contributed to BGSU Athletics as both an intern and a student manager for the softball program beginning in 2022.
Romero built a diverse foundation of experience during his time as a student at Bowling Green State University. He worked with Buckeye Cable Sports Network, the Toledo Mud Hens, WSYL Radio, BGSU Athletics, Prep Baseball Report, and Perfect Game Baseball. Across these roles, he developed skills in writing press releases, video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, graphic design in Photoshop, and managing social media for both professional sports organizations and media outlets.
Among his most meaningful experiences at BGSU was his time with the softball program. Romero served as the play-by-play voice of the team for two seasons on WBGU before transitioning into a team manager role for an additional two seasons. Following graduation, he gained professional experience with the Detroit Tigers and Toledo Walleye before returning to the BGSU Athletic Department.
Originally born in New Jersey and raised in Sylvania, Ohio, Romero attended Sylvania Northview High School before enrolling at Bowling Green State University, where he earned his degree in Broadcast Journalism.
A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Romero remains active on the field, competing in slow-pitch softball at a high level. He has played travel slow-pitch for the past five years and is a two-time World Series of Slow Pitch Softball Champion (2024, 2025). Proud of his accomplishments—and quick to mention them—Romero continues to pursue further success, aiming to build a legacy of his own so that one day people will remember him the same way they remember legends like Lebron James, Micheal Jordan and Tom Brady.
