Almanson Joins BGSU Basketball Program

Local product, 6-8, 220-pound forward Josh Almanson from Bowling Green High School, will join the Bowling Green State University men's basketball program after signing his National Letter of Intent last night, BGSU head coach Dan Dakich announced.
Almanson started each of the last two seasons for head coach Mike Vannett.
As a sophomore, he averaged 11.1 points and 6.5 rebounds as the Bobcats posted an 11-11 record. He shot 54% (92-of-171) from he field and had 38 blocked shots.
Last season, he helped the Bobcats post a 14-8 mark averaging 20.9 points and 9.1 rebounds. He shot 58% (178-of-308) from the floor, 72% (82-of-114) from the charity stripe, and hit 22 three-pointers. He also had 55 blocked shots.
As a sophomore, he earned honorable mention all-district and all-league honors while last season he was a first-team all-league and all-county selection while earning second-team all-district accolades.
