BGSU Hockey Signs Four to National Letters of Intent

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University Head Hockey Coach Buddy Powers announced today the signing of a two student-athletes to a national letter of intent during the late signing period.
Powers said goaltenders Tyler Masters (Calgary, ALB/Kindersley, SK Klippers) and Tom Lawson (Whitby, ONT/Markham Waxers) have decided to attend BGSU beginning in the fall of 1999.
Masters (5-9, 160) played in 54 games for coach Wayne Labrie recording a 2.77 goals-against average with a .922 save percentage.
Lawson (6-5, 190) played in 35 games for the Waxers recording a 3.46 goals-against average in just over 1,800 minutes of action.
The two netminders join forwards Ryan Fultz (Rochester, MI/Cleveland Junior Barons) and Tyler Knight (Vernon, BC/Vernon Vipers) who had signed previously.
The Bowling Green State University hockey team finished the 1998-99 campaign as the fourth most improved team in the country (+9 win total, from 8 to 17). The Falcons recorded a 17-18-3 mark this past year with a CCHA league record of 13-14-3. BG's three member 1998-99 senior class consisted of right wing Dan Price, and goaltenders Mike Savard and Jason Piwko. Bowling Green returns 19 letterwinners (11-forwards, 7-defensemen, 1-goalie) for the 1999-2000 season.
