
Women's Gymanstics Wins Second Of The Season

The Bowling Green State University women's gymnastics team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 191.250 to 190.475 win over Eastern Michigan at the Eppler Complex. The win was also BG's second in Mid-American Conference competition.
Bowling Green had two winners in the meet. Sophomore Marny Oestreng, the defending NCAA champion in the floor exercise, won the bars compeitition with a score of 9.900. Senior co-captain Sarah Grealis also captured an event winning the beam with a score of 9.675.
Earning second-place finishes for the Falcons was Grealis in the bars with a score of 9.825. Freshman Rachel Hall earned a score of 9.825 in the floor exercise which was the second-best score in the event behind three Eagle gymnasts who tied for first with a score of 9.850.
The difference in the meet came in the bars where BG had a team score of 48.575 compared to 45.950 for Eastern Michigan, which lost for the first time this season.
BG also won the beam competition while EMU captured the vault and floor exercise.
Bowling Green did not have anyone compete in the all-around which was won by EMU's Natalie Hashimoto with a score of 38.900.
