The Falcons outshot the host Cardinals by a 32-10 margin, but had to settle for a 2-2 tie. BGSU never led in the match against the first-year Cards, despite holding a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal.

Ball State got on the board just 16 seconds before halftime, but BG's Jill Conover equalized with her team-high sixth goal of the year at the 53:41 mark. Janice Mentrup assisted on the goal, her first of two helpers on the day.

The Cardinals regained the lead at 68:17, but BG tied the contest less than two minutes later. With exactly 20 minutes left in regulation, Autumn Harris scored off a Mentrup feed. The teams played scoreless soccer for the next 50 minutes.

Erika Flanders went the whole way in goal, making three saves. BSU's K.D. Moreland made 11 stops. The Falcons held a 10-1 margin in corner kicks.
