The Falcons erased one deficit, but the second deficit was too much to overcome. East Carolina got on the board in the 33rd minute, but BG's Mandy Smith scored her first collegiate goal just 19 seconds before halftime. Jill Conover and Beth Wechsler assisted on the play. In the second half, however, the Pirates built a three-goal lead, and the Falcons could only muster one goal in response. That goal came from Conover with just over two minutes left in the match. ECU outshot BG, 17-14, including an 11-5 edge in shots on goal. Erika Flanders had seven saves in net for the Brown and Orange.
