The Falcons got off to a successful start in Mid-American Conference play with a three-game road win (16-14, 15-10, 15-6) over the Chippewas. Melissa Lewis had 15 kills and both JoAnna Papageorgiou (.467) and Kris Pesorda (.429) hit over .400 in the win. The Falcons outhit CMU, .304 to .131. Heather Greig dished out 28 assists in the win, while Lewis and Lori Kemerer each had five blocks as the Falcons held an 8-3 advantage in that department.
