Hockey Signs Three To Letter Of Intent

Bowling Green State University head hockey coach Buddy Powers announced today the signing of three student-athletes to a National Letter of Intent.
Taylor Christie, a defenseman with the Thornhill Rattlers, Matt Lynn, a blueliner from the Wellington Dukes and Jordan Sigalet, a goaltender for the Victoria Salsa will attend BGSU beginning in the fall of 2001.
Christie, a 6-3, 195-pound left shot from Toronto, Ontario, is in his second year with the Rattlers. He has one goal and five assists for six points in 17 games with 19 penalty minutes. The Rattlers are currently 13-6-1 with 2-overtime losses in the Ontario Provincial South Conference. Christie, who was born on Feb. 1, 1983, had 10 assists in 38 games last season with the Rattlers.
Lynn, a 6-2, 185-pound right shot from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, is in his second year with the Dukes. He has four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 19 games with 10 penalty minutes. The Dukes are currently 10-6-3 with 2-overtime losses in the Ontario Provincial East Conference. Lynn, who was born on July 7, 1983, had four goals and 18 assists last season with the Dukes. He also participated last year with Team Atlantic Under-17 squad.
Sigalet, a 6-0, 180-pound netminder from Surrey, British Columbia, was named to the British Columbia Hockey League's All-Rookie team and Second All-Star team last season. He appeared in 33 games last year for the first-place Salsa with a 3.28 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage. This year in 20 contests, he has compiled an 8-12 record with a 3.32 gaa and a .911 save percentage. The Salsa currently has a 10-13-2 record in the BCHL Coastal Conference Island Division.
Bowling Green is currently 1-5-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the CCHA and will play a two-game weekend series at Ohio State this Saturday (7:05) and Sunday (3:05). The Falcons have six seniors on this year's roster -- defensemen Louis Mass and Doug Schueller, forwards Ryan Murphy, Curtis Valentine and Dennis Williams, and goaltender Shawn Timm.
