FALCONS IN FOURTH SEASON UNDER DAKICH
The Falcons are in their fourth season under head coach Dan Dakich. The Falcons have won 41 of their last 60 games since February of 1999. BGSU is coming off a 22-8 campaign which saw them earn the regular season MAC Championship and a berth in the NIT. BGSU was 14-4 in the conference a season ago. The Falcons have a 15-5 record against non-conference foes in the last 20 non-MAC tilts since 1998.
FALCONS BEAT EVANSVILLE, FALL TO UNCW
BGSU won its third straight season opener under Dakich, when the Falcons defeated Evansville, 92-87. Winning close games is nothing new for the Falcons. Last year, BGSU was 10-1 in games decided by six points or less, including a 7-0 mark on the road. The Falcons dropped their first road contest this season, a 91-76 loss at UNC Wilmington.
SERIES HISTORY
This meeting will be the 21st in a series which began in 1947, but the first matchup since the 1984-85 season. The Dukes and Falcons laced it up 17 times between 1947 and 1963.
UP NEXT
The Falcons will go on the road next Wednesday night to face Illinois State.
THE DUKES
Duquesne is coming off a brutal stretch which saw them play four games in five days, including three in Hawaii. DU is 3-3 with one of their victories coming at home against UNC Wilmington, 82-73 in Pittsburgh.
