Groundbreaking For Ice Arena Renovation Takes Place

The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on Saturday, Dec. 2 for the BGSU Ice Arena Renovation project prior to the Bowling Green-Michigan State game.
A donor reception was held in the Ice Arena Lounge with approximately 200 donors to the project in attendance.
Remarks and expressions of gratitude were given by coach Buddy Powers, athletic director Paul Krebs, executive vice president Dr. Linda Dobb and Chair of the BGSU Board of Trustees, Kerm Stroh preceeding the ceremonial groundbreaking.
Construction of the $730,000 project began on Dec. 4 and will be completed in the spring of 2001. Donations to the project including Wall of Honor recognition gifts and the commemorative brick walkway are still being solicited.
