Bowling Green freshman right wing Ryan Fultz has been selected as Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week for his four-goal performance in the Falcons split with Ohio State.
Fultz, who had a hat trick in Saturday's win, was on the ice for five of BG's 10 goals in the weekend series. He scored BG's second goal in Friday's 4-3 setback. In Saturday's 7-1 triumph over the Buckeyes, Fultz scored BG's third, fifth and seventh goals.
His hat trick last Saturday was the first by a Falcon freshman since Brian Holzinger scored three times in BG's 7-4 win over Michigan on Feb. 7, 1992.
This is the third time this season a BG freshman has earned CCHA Rookie of the Week honors. Goalie Tyler Masters won in week nine, while Fultz garnered the same honor four weeks ago.
