Oestreng Earns MAC Award

Bowling Green State University sophomore gymnast Marny Oestreng was named the Co-Gymnast of the Week by the Mid-American Conference.
Oestreng, the defending NCAA champion in the floor exercise, competed in two of BG's three meets last week.
In a meet at Ball State, which also included Kent, she broke her own school record in the vault of 9.250 with a score of 9.950 to win the event. She also tied for first in the bars with a score of 9.850.
In a meet at home with Rutgers and Cornell, she won all four individual events and the all-around to help the Falcons to victories over both teams.
She had scores of 9.875 in the vault, 9.800 in the beam, 9.900 in the floor exercise, and 9.825 in the bars. Her all-around total was 39.400.
She shared the award with Laura Szczepanski from Ball State.
