Falcon Gymnast Participated In NCAA Region

Bowling Green State University sophomore gymnast Marny Oestreng placed eighth in the all-around competition at the NCAA Region 4 gymnastics championships on April 1 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Oestreng tied for fifth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.900, while her score of 9.825 in the vault tied for eighth. She finished in a 10th place tie in the uneven bars with a score of 9.825.

Only individuals on the top two teams from the region or individual event winners qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Alabama won the team competition with a score of 197.300, while Iowa State placed second with a team score of 196.100. Central Michigan was third (193.400), Ohio State finished fourth (193.625), Kent was fifth (193.125) and Michigan State placed sixth (192.925).
