Lori Williams Third In Hammer Throw

BUFFALO, New York - Junior Lori Williams recorded a third-place finish in the hammer throw as the Bowling Green women's track team began competition at the Mid-American Conference Track & Field Championships Thursday (May 18). The league meet, which runs through Saturday, May 20, is being hosted by the University at Buffalo.
Williams, a native of Erie, Pa., recorded a throw of 53.38 meters to pick up the third-place finish. Junior Cindy Stanfield and sophomore Janean Johnson also competed in the hammer, placing 10th and 14th, respectively.
Sophomores Lisa Schroeder and Christina Reeber represented the Falcons in the 10,000 meter run Thursday night. Schroeder finished 15th, while Reeber was 18th in the race.
The only other action on Thursday was the first several events of the heptathlon competition.
