Women's Basketball Schedule Announced

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's basketball schedule has been announced for 2000-2001, and the 11-game home schedule features a visit from Ohio State. Third-year head coach Dee Knoblauch's squad also will play in a pair of tournaments, one hosted by a Southeastern Conference school and one at the site of a Pacific 10 Conference squad, before diving into a 16-game Mid-American Conference slate.
The Brown and Orange will open the schedule with a pair of Wednesday exhibition games at Anderson Arena, on Nov. 1 and Nov. 8. The Falcons begin the regular season by hosting Youngstown State in a Saturday (Nov. 18) afternoon tilt.
After a trip to Eastern Kentucky, the Falcons will head to Auburn for a tournament over Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 24-25). Charleston Southern and IUPUI will round out the tourney. The Brown and Orange will host Detroit on Dec. 2 before heading to St. Bonaventure, and then to Tucson, Ariz. In Arizona, the Falcons will face the host Wildcats along with Fresno State (Dec. 8-9).
The OSU Buckeyes come to BG for a 7:00 p.m. game on Tuesday, Dec. 12. After road contests against Wright State and Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the Brown and Orange will host Akron in the first game of the new millennium and of the MAC schedule (Jan. 3).
BGSU hosts arch-rival Toledo on Jan. 13, and defending league champion Kent State comes to town on Feb. 3. The Brown and Orange will end the regular season with a Feb. 28 contest vs. Miami.
