Men's Cross Country Finishes Eighth At MAC Meet

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's cross country team recorded an eighth-place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championship Saturday (Oct. 27). The race was held at the Eagle Crest Golf Course in Ypsilanti.
The Falcons recorded a team total of 202 points. Host Eastern Michigan had three of the top-four finishers to win the race with 30 points, while Miami (83 pts.) finished second.
Central Michigan (113), Kent State (133), Buffalo (135), Western Michigan (143), Ball State (196), BGSU, Marshall (229), Ohio (237), Toledo (261) and Akron (322) rounded out the 12-team race.
Individually, senior Tom Kutter posted a 12th-place finish for the second consecutive year. That finish, in a time of 25:33.1, earned him All-MAC Second-Team honors, also for the second-straight season.
Sophomore Justin Perez was the second Falcon to cross the finish line, placing 37th in a time of 26:21.5.
Other Falcon competitors included junior Dave Larson (42nd, 26:29.4), seniors Rob Glatz (53rd, 26:46.8) and Chad Kunkle (63rd, 26:58.9) and junior Andy Artiaga (89th, 28:21.5).
