Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green's offense turned things up a notch, netting nine goals against the Miami RedHawks, en route to snapping a three-losing streak with a 9-4 decision at the BGSU Ice Arena.
Miami's Evan Cheverie netted the game's first goal at 3:07 of the first, but Falcon captain Greg Day evened things up just 33 seconds later with his third marker of the season. The power-play tally was assisted by Grady Moore. A mere 15 seconds later, BG freshman Steve Brudzewski scored his first career goal for the Falcons, the game's third goal in less than a minute.
RedHawk captain Jason Deskins tied the game four minutes later, with his first of two goals on the night. But Day helped the Falcons recapture the lead for good as he scored his second goal of the game a minute later at 9:04. Austin de Luis and Moore assisted on the four-on-four goal. Ryan Wetterberg scored the sixth and final goal of the first period at 14:35, with Tyler Knight and Colen Pappas setting up the play.
The Falcon power play scored its second goal of the night at 8:38 of the first. Sophomore D'Arcy McConvey won the faceoff back to Scott Hewson, who passed to a wide-open Marc Barlow. Barlow's rocket hit the cross bar and dropped behind Miami netminder David Burleigh for the defenseman's second goal of the year. Burleigh was subsequently pulled in favor of David Bowen.
Wetterberg posted his second score of the night at 10:05, marking his first multiple-goal game at Bowling Green. The even-strength tally, his fourth of the season and a career best, was set up by Brian Escobedo and Pappas. The Falcons would score less than a minute apart for the second time in the contest as Grady Moore posted his first goal and third point of the night at 10:52. Ryan Minnabarriet and de Luis garnered assists on the play.
