Hicks To Play in East-West Shrine Game

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University All-American nose tackle Brandon Hicks has been selected to play in the 2002 East-West Shrine Game. Hicks, who will be a member of the East squad, will join several of the top graduating seniors in college football for this year's game which is scheduled for January 12 in San Francisco. The game will be played at 3:30 p.m. (EST) at Pacific Bell Park.
"We are very excited that Brandon has accepted our invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game," said Jack Hart, Executive Director of the East-West Shrine Game. "We are extremely pleased to have a representative from Bowling Green State University."
Hicks, who was named a fourth team All-American and MAC Defensive Player of the Year by The Sporting News, anchored the top-rated defense in the MAC. He had 52 tackles, 14 for a loss and seven sacks.
He is the seventh Falcon to be selected to the prestigious game.
Every year since 1925, the East-West Shrine Game has been played to raise money and to help make the public aware of the expert orthopedic and burn care available, at NO cost, at all 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children.
To date, the game has raised more than $14 million for Shriners Hospitals and has helped inform millions of people about the mission of this extraordinary philanthropy.
