Tampa, Florida - Led by Stephanie Elsea's (Worthington, OH) first round score of 77, the Bowling Green women's golf team is tenth after one round at the Snowbird Intercollegiate in Tampa, Florida. The Falcons shot a team total of 333 on the first day of the event, 28 strokes behind team leader Arkansas State. The event, held at the Pebblecreek Country Club is being hosted by Northern Illinois University.
Elsea's score ties her for eighth overall, just four strokes behind co-leaders Shellie Wenzel of Arkansas State and Jennifer Shutt of Southern Illinois. Sophomore Shelly Binzel (Dublin, OH) is the second highest Falcon, tied for 22nd in the standings with a first round 80.
The Falcons return to action on day two of the meet, with first tee off set for 7:30 a.m.
