Bowling Green - For the ninth-straight year, the Bowling Green State University women's gymnastics team had at least one student-athlete that was recognized by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches as a Scholastic All-American. This season, BGSU had the most ever earn the distinction with seven Falcons named Scholastic All-Americans with 3.5 GPAs or better.
Junior Jennifer Brenneman was the only Falcon gymnast with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Others receiving Scholastic All-America recognition were Amber Curry, Sarah Gaertner, Emily Gray, Jamie Kent, Melissa Popovich and Mindy Untch.
It marks the first Scholastic All-American award for Curry, Gaertner, Gray, Kent and Popovich. It was the second time for Brenneman and third time for Untch.
BGSU Coach Dan Connelly has had no less than three Scholastic All-Americans in each of his five years at Bowling Green, including 17 in the last three years.
