Morrison Signs With Canton Crocodiles

CANTON, Ohio - Former Bowling Green State University baseball standout Lee Morrison has signed a professional contract. Morrison inked a contract with the Canton Crocodiles of the independent Frontier League.
Morrison, who is a native of nearby Stow, Ohio, had seen action in four games for the Crocodiles as of July 25, batting .235 with a pair of doubles and two RBI.
In 2001, Morrison paced the Mid-American Conference East Division champion Falcons with 18 homers and 63 RBI, both school records, as the Brown and Orange finished 36-18 overall and 18-9 in league play.
Morrison was an All-MAC First-Team selection in 2001. In addition to homers and RBI, he also set a school single-season record with 141 total bases. Morrison hit all 18 of his round-trippers against conference foes, and batted a league-best .440 vs. MAC pitchers.
Former Falcon pitcher Rick Blanc also is in the Frontier League, and has an 8-1 record and a 3.93 earned-run average for the Chillicothe Paints. Blanc's win total leads the league.
