FULL SQUAD WORKOUTS BEGIN ON SATURDAY
Coach Meyer and his staff expect 102 players to participate in the team's first full-squad workout at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 11. Two-a-day practices will continue until Saturday, August 25.
"We're just anxious to get going. We have two days of meetings, yesterday (Thurs.) and today, so I think the players are just as anxious as we are. They had a physical test this morning, and they all passed, so we're ready to go. They're anxious to get on the field tomorrow."
Scrimmages are scheduled for Saturday, August 18 at 9:15 a.m., and Friday, August 24 at 3:45 p.m.
NEW UNIFORMSFor the first time in 25 years, the Falcon football team will not have the words "Bowling Green" on the front of its home jersey. BGSU will wear orange jerseys with white pants at home and white jerseys and orange pants on the road. A Falcon head logo does appear on the front collar. A recent poll on the Falcons website, bgsufalcons.com, showed fans prefer the orange uniform over brown by a four to one margin.
OHIO TIME CHANGEThe Nov. 10 game at Ohio will start at 1 p.m., instead of the previously published 2 p.m.
WEEKLY COACHES TELEVISION SHOWFalcon Football with Urban Meyer will air each Sunday (beginning, September 2) at 12:30 p.m., on Fox Sports Ohio. The 30-minute show will feature highlights, features and a preview of future Falcon contests. Coach Meyer will be joined by WUPW-TV Sports Director Brad Fanning who will serve as host of the 12-week program. The move to Fox Sports Ohio will increase the number of homes which can view the show from 650,000 to 4.2 million.
