The Falcons snapped a three-game losing streak to the Rockets with the 76-57 victory.
Senior Len Matela matched his career-high with 28 points. He also had 28 points against the Rockets on January 15, 2000. Matela also had 10 rebounds to post his 26th double-double of his career. He also moved into 20th on the BGSU career scoring list with 1,239 points.
Against the MAC, Matela is averaging 18.6 points and 8.4 rebounds.
The sellout crowd of 4,705 was the eighth SRO crowd during the tenure of Coach Dan Dakich.
Sophomore Josh Almanson had his first double-figure effort in 13 games when he finished with 14 points, six rebounds and four steals. It marked the seventh time this season that a Falcon reserve had 10 points or more off the bench.
Freshman Germain Fitch saw his most extensive action of the season (18 minutes). He had two points, seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists. He is averaging 5.5 rebounds in the last two games.
The Falcons improved to 7-0 when Brandon Pardon hits two or more three-pointers. He made two of three against the Rockets.
Keith McLeod moved into ninth place on the BGSU all-time scoring list and now has 1,514 career points. He leads the MAC averaging 23.4 points per game. He had 15 points in 22 minutes on Saturday.
