Falcons Split Series at #9 Michigan
Bowling Green split its series at Michigan last weekend, taking game one (4-2) and dropping Saturday's contest (3-2). The 4-2 victory was the second in a row by the Falcons in Yost Ice Arena. SR Marc Barlow scored the game-winning goal, his team-leading third of the season, while Tyler Knight added an empty-netter late in the game. Denis White and Scott Hewson netted the other goals. BGSU held the Wolverines to 0-for-8 on their power play while outshooting them, 34-33. JR Tyler Masters ended with a game-high 31 saves. The next night, Roger Leonard and D'Arcy McConvey scored Bowling Green's only goals.
Bowling Green Ends Road Stretch
Saturday's game at Michigan marked the end of a long stretch that saw the Falcons on their home ice just twice in the last 10 games played and seven weeks overall. During that time, BGSU had one home series (vs. Princeton) and two off-weeks (including Christmas). Three of those series' included flights to Alaska Fairbanks (Dec. 14-15), the Denver Wells Fargo Cup (Dec. 28-29) and RPI (Jan. 18-19). Bowling Green is home for six of its next eight games in February as they make a run to move up the CCHA ladder.
