Falcons Break Even At Fall MAC Invite

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team broke even on day one of the 2002 Fall MAC Invitational Friday (Nov. 8). The Falcon singles players went a collective 4-4 at the tournament, hosted by Western Michigan University at the West Hills Athletic Club.

Senior Alyson Gabel posted the most convincing victory, with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Toledo's Eva Szuch at the third flight. Junior Gaby Coello recorded a win in straight sets at the second flight, while sophomore Laura Kokinda won a third-set tiebreaker at the fourth level.
Freshman Heidi Romer won her initial match at flight number-five.
The Falcons are playing without junior Lisa Maloney, who is nursing an injury.
