CLEVELAND, Ohio -
BGSU HEAD COACH CURT MILLER:
"A win is a win. We're excited to get out of here with a win tonight. I spent three of my early years (in coaching) at Cleveland State, so I'm excited to come back and get a win here. This place brings back a lot of fond memories for me."
"I'm proud of our kids. We did not play well offensively; we struggled against their zone and settled for a lot of shots. We only scored six points in, I believe, the last eight minutes, but we did what we needed to do defensively to win. I'm proud that we were able to make a lot of defensive stops down the stretch to win the game."
(Was today's win the most hard-fought win this season?)
"Absolutely. For us to go on the road and beat a very talented, veteran starting group from Cleveland State -- it's a huge win for us."
"Obviously, we ride the coattails of Francine (Miller) a lot. She has been in a shooting slump the last couple games, but she's not going to stay in a slump very long. She's one of the most prolific scorers in school history, and it was fun to watch her play today. I was frustrated that I couldn't get more than 13 shots for her, because I think she could have had a career night. But, she's such a warrior. She played with foul trouble, and played a great game defensively. She just makes huge play after huge play for us."
"Lindsay Austin is getting more and more healthy every day, and her ability to penetrate gaps is really important for us. But, she had a great game defensively on (CSU point guards) Nikki Perkins and Regina Smith. They had more turnovers than points between them, and that's a direct reflection of Lindsay's defensive pressure."
BGSU SENIOR FRANCINE MILLER:
"I've been in a slump for a few weeks now, but I'm coming out of it. I know I'm still looked upon as a go-to player, and someone who is supposed to come up with big plays at key times. I take whatever role I need to take, but I want to be (a go-to player) for this team."
"I felt good, for once. My knee felt good, my back felt good, so I just wanted to come out and do what I could. This was a big game for us, and we needed a win. I just came out and did what I needed to do, and it just happened to be a good game for me."
