Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University baseball coach Danny Schmitz announced the signing of two left-handed pitchers as part of his 2003-04 recruiting class. Schmitz will begin his 13th season with the Brown and Orange this spring with a career record of 331-297-4 (.527 pct.).
The two southpaws are Alan Brech (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison H.S.) and Dan Horvath (Wellington, Ohio/Wellington H.S.).
"That was our top priority, to bring in left-handed pitching, and we were able to do that with Alan and Dan," said Schmitz. "They've both had outstanding high school careers and we're hopeful they can carry that over into their college careers."
