Studrawa Named Offensive Coordinator

Bowling Green, Ohio - The first order of business for new BGSU football coach Gregg Brandon was to name former Falcon Greg Studrawa his offensive coordinator. Studrawa and Brandon had spent the last two years together at BGSU with "Coach Stud" serving as the coach for the offensive guards and center. In his new position, Studrawa also will coach the entire offensive line. Studrawa was planning to follow Urban Meyer to the University of Utah and coach guards and the center.
"Greg is a player's coach and a great tactician," said Brandon. "He's a true Falcon in every sense and his return was priority 1 and 1A on my list of things to accomplish."
A former starter at left tackle for the Falcons, Studrawa played a significant role in teaching an offense which finished third in the nation in scoring (40.8), eighth in total offense (448.9) and 15th in rushing (219.1) in 2002. In addition, the Falcons set 17 school record and seven MAC records In 2001, his group helped the Falcons reduce their sack total from the previous year by more than 50 percent and produced a 125-yard improvement in total offense.
He returned to his alma mater after spending three seasons as offensive line coach at Arkansas State. He also was an offensive line coach at Cincinnati for two years (1989 and 1990) and was the offensive coordinator at Wilmington from 1991-96. He served as a graduate assistant at Ohio State in 1997. A native of Fostoria, he is a graduate of St. Wendelin High School and was a first team All-Ohio pick as a senior. During his career at BGSU, he started two seasons at left tackle. Born November 3, 1964, Studrawa and his wife Cindy have three children Samantha (11), Katelin (8) and Allison (5).
FOUR OTHERS WILL STAY
Brandon also announced that full-time assistant coaches Tommy Thigpen, John Bowers and Mike Ward will remain at BGSU . Positional responsibilities will be determined once an entire staff is assembled. Strength coach Aaron Hillmann also will stay at BGSU.
