Reimold Named MAC West Player of the Week

Cleveland, Ohio - Kent State's Antonio Gates (East Division) and Bowling Green's John Reimold (West Division) were selected as winners of the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week award for the sixth week of the 2002-2003 season. The league office will select a player of the week from both divisions each week throughout the 2002-03 season.
MAC East Division Player of the Week
Antonio Gates, Kent State
(Sr., F, Detroit, Mich.)
Gates totaled a career-high 32 points and added 9 rebounds and 3 assists in the Golden Flashes' 86-83 overtime win over Boston College. Gates, who played 43 of the game's 45 minutes, finished 11-of-18 (61.1%) from the field and 9-of-10 (90.0%) from the line. KSU improved to 7-1 on the sea-son and won their eighth consecutive game at Gund Arena.
MAC West Division Player of the Week
John Reimold, Bowling Green

Reimold was named BG's John McClendon Outstanding Player Award winner for his 24-point effort in leading the Falcons to an 80-72 comeback win over Cleveland State in the Rock 'N Roll Shootout Saturday at Gund Arena. Reimold set a Shootout standard by making all 11 free throw at-tempts and added 5 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. With BG trailing 26-16, Reimold scored 7 of the Falcons' next 10 points to tie the game with 2:38 left in the half. BG trailed by 5 at the half before Reimold scored 7 of the Falcons' first 9 points to give BG a 39-35 lead, an advantage it would never relinquish.
