South Bend, Ind. - The Bowling Green women's swimming and diving team finished fourth out of 15 teams on Saturday in the three-day Notre Dame Invitational. Thanks to four second-place finishes by Falcons on the final day, BGSU finished ahead of 11 other teams.
Freshman Dana Schultz was narrowly beat out in the 200 butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:06.29 while Iowa's Andrea Hemphill finished in 2:06.25. Also registering second-place finishes on Saturday for coach Keri Buff's team were junior Sarah Agnew (200 backstroke, 2:19.58), freshman Kara Ohngren (1,650 free, 17:35.10) and freshman Stephanie Buckner (T-2nd, 100 free, 52.52).
"The team really came together. Everyone contributed to the great finish," said BGSU coach Keri Buff. "Twenty-one of 23 girls scored at the meet. What we did with this meet we rested them a bit. We did an abbreviated taper for this meet so that we could have a little bit of success. And instead of a little bit of success, they had a lot of success in the meet."
