Falcon Gymnasts Remain Undefeated After 2-0 Win At Rutgers

The Bowling Green Women's Gymnastice squad continued it's perfect season with wins over Southern Connecticut and Rutgers Saturday in Camden, New Jersey. The Falcons defeated both teams with a final score of 192.00. Rutgers earned 191.225 points while Southern COnnecticut finished with 186.175 points.
Several individual efforts helped propel the Falcons to its 9th consecutive win of 2002. Senior Marny Oestreng led the team by placing 1st in every event. Oestreng finished 1st in the vault (9.825), 1st in the bars (9.875), 1st in the balance beam (9.725), tied for 1st in the floor (9.850) and won the all-around with a final score of 39.275. Junior Ann MArie Kassouf also had a solid weekend earning a 3rd place finish in the all-around with a score of 38.075.
With these two wins, the 2002 Falcons have tied for the longest win streak in the program's history. The 1978-79 squad started out 9-0 before losing to Ohio State.
The Falcon's next meet will be Saturday, February 9 at North Carolina. BG will face North Carolina and George Washington as it looks to remain undefeated on the year.
