With the win, the Falcons clinched their fourth straight winning season under Dan Dakich and eclipsed their win total from last season (16).
Keith McLeod hit the game winning or clinching shot for the seventh time this season. He scored 12 of his game-high 19 points in the final 6:53. His back-to-back three-pointers (3:58 and 2:59 respectively) eliminated a three-point RedHawk lead. His two free throws with 1:21 remaining gave BGSU the lead for good.
He became the sixth player in school history to eclipse the 1,600 point mark and now has scored 1,612 points.
The Falcons had a season-low seven turnovers and 15 fouls. Miami's 18.2% effort from three point range (2/11) was the Falcons best defensive showing beyond the arc this season.
The Falcons saw their bench score 20 points (Cory Ryan-8, Kevin Netter and Germain Fitch-6) and shoot 53.9 from the field (7/13).
In the last seven games, Germain Fitch is averaging 4.7 rebounds in just 11.5 minutes of action per game. He tied his season-high in scoring with six points.
