Brandon Pardon Named MAC Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green State University men's basketball senior Brandon Pardon has been named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday (Feb. 26).
Pardon, a native of Middle Point, Ohio, averaged 17 points and 3.7 assists per game as the Falcons went 2-1 last week. The point guard had 21 points and five assists in a 76-46 win over Akron Saturday (Feb. 23), tying his career high with five three-point field goals made. He had 19 points in a 65-50 win at Miami Wednesday (Feb. 20), going 3-of-4 from long distance. Pardon scored 13 points and had five assists at Toledo, in an overtime loss (Feb. 18).
On the week, Pardon shot 62 percent from the floor (18-of-29) and went .563 from three-point range (9-of-16).
An elementary education major, Pardon maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.15.
The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week honor is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by one of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
The Falcons, now 21-6 overall and 11-5 in MAC play, will host Buffalo in a Wednesday (Feb. 27) contest, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Anderson Arena. The contest marks the final regular-season home game for BGSU's four seniors -- Pardon, Brent Klassen, Len Matela and Keith McLeod.
