Falcon Swimmers Drop Meet To Northern Illinois University

The Bowling Green Men's Swimming and Diving teams dropped an away meet to Northern Illinois University last Friday. The Falcons scored 111 points to NIU's 127.
Top performers for the Falcons were freshman Robert McRae and senior Paul Bizzarro, both earned first-place finishes in four different events. McRae won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.42 and the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.76. Bizzarro won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.08 and the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:04.63.
Freshmen Richard Wade and Ian Chertieny also had impressive showings in the 3 meter and 1 meter diving events respectively. Wade won the 3 meter event with a score of 258.60 while Chertieny won the 1 meter with a 267.75 mark.
The Falcons return to action March 7-9 at the MAC Championships to be held in Athens, Ohio.
