ORLANDO, Fla. - Austin Peay State University scored five times in the fourth inning and downed the Bowling Green State University softball team by a 5-4 count Wednesday (March 13). The game, part of the Rebel Spring Games, was held in Orlando, Fla.

The Falcons got on the board with a run in the top of the first, and the score remained the same through three-and-a-half innings. In the fourth, however, the Lady Govs scored five times against senior pitchers Rebekah Tipton and Andrea Genter. Tipton took the loss to fall to 1-2 on the year.
The Falcons got a pair of runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to narrow the margin to a single run, but BG could not get the tying run across the plate.

Another junior, Kandice Machain, also was 2-for-4 in the game, with a double and a triple. Senior Holly Frantz had a 2-for-3 day at the plate.
